The scuba school instructors... read more were fantastic - I wasn't super confident in the dry suit but Kerry, Lee and Dave, along with my team, gave me all the support I needed to gain confidence - I couldn't have asked for a better group of people to complete the course with. The rescue weekend was challenging but so enjoyable as well as educational. I walked into Scuba school as an individual scuba diver and now it feels like I have a whole new group of Scuba friends to enjoy diving with...if you are considering learning to dive - give it a go - you will not regret it.

The most striking thing was that I left impressed with the professionalism, honesty, friendliness and knowledge of Darren and his team. Being a... read more 56 year old construction safety manager I find that all too often courses seem to be a tick the box and pay up exercise. But not here.
From the off it was explained that the course was not a given and would be earned.
The First response course was run by Brian Fanthom whos practical experience and knowledge was limitless making it by far the best 1st Aid course that I have done.
The knowledge review and exam was done by Kerry Timms who talked through and explained everything really well.
We did pool sessions and knowledge reviews with Brian who really helped us to get a grip on the exercises.
We then went to Capernwray dive center for two days.
Day one was continued exercises with Brian and Kerry who worked us very hard but explained everything along the way.
Day two…… All I can say is OMG! We had most of Scuba school involved all playing their part. With lifelike dummies fully in scuba gear hidden under the water, bystanders playing their part and actual paramedics turning up to play their part. The scenarios could not of been more realistic. It was very apparent that everybody was going way beyond the norm to make it a very special occasion.
I would like to personally thank Brian Fanthom Kerry Timms, Darren Ellis, Fiona Gray and all the other instructors, dive masters and interns for making this the best and most rewarding course that I have done so far.
Im not normally one for writing reviews but felt that in a world so full of negatives it might be good to give some positive feedback.
Because of this experience I am doing the dive master course.

My instructor Darren made me feel relaxed in the water so I felt safe to do the underwater skills such as flooding my mask when I had started off a little nervous about doing them, experiencing the world of diving with these guys it's easy to see why they are a 5 star rated PADI centre.

On first arrival in the shop... read more my wife and were greeted by a lovely bald headed man called Darren he was the Gaffa then his lovely wife Fiona came out from round the back. We were offered a hot drink and we chatted about general stuff and also diving trips events etc.
Scuba school have a vast range of events taking place over the year from courses to social events to weekends away.
They also have a scuba club which is chargeable however the benefits you get is well worth the joining fee.
No only are Darren and Fiona friendly the whole team are so welcoming and have made us feel apart of the family from the off.
